For that option, check out our new Interest-Only Mortgage Calculator. It also doesn't work for interest-only mortgages. Note: This mortgage calculator does NOT work for so-called "simple interest mortgages" - you'll need to try our Simple Interest Mortgage Calculator instead. Remember that if paying monthly, you can enter a fraction of a year by entering a value like =10+5/12 (for 10 years and 5 months). The second approach is to enter the current mortgage balance and adjust the term length until the PI payment matches what you are currently paying. So, if you've already been making payments for a couple of years, you can choose to have scheduled extra payments start on payment number 25. That is the simplest solution, so we've added a new feature to the Extra Payments section (at the suggestion of one of our users) that lets you specify what payment you want the extra payments to start at. SmartZip estimates home values nationwide using our own automated valuation model (AVM). The first is to enter the original loan amount and date and then make adjustments to the payment history within the Payment Schedule as needed. There are a couple of ways to analyze your existing home mortgage. Use this Help To Buy repayment calculator to estimate the real cost of your purchase and what your possible options are when the 5 year Help To Buy interest-free period ends.

With drivers already worried about potential privacy issues of clips making their way to the internet, it’s probably not helpful if some drivers are contributing to the steady flow. Whether the footage should be requested and dropped online is a different question. On the Subreddit in question, drivers confirm that there is no live feed, but “dispatchers” on the other end can check-in, and drivers can request a pull up of specific footage as seems to be the case in this example. Drivers claim they don’t have access to the footage: only Amazon, the technology maker, and the delivery service partner (DSP) which is the firm making the actual delivery. Meanwhile the current clips are leaking to sites like Reddit, and nobody is sure who is doing it for the most part. Despite this, there are examples of the cameras incorrectly penalising drivers. The cameras used are able to record both road and driver, with Vice reporting that drivers must consent to their biometric data being collected so their actions can be recorded “properly”. Ever had a casual chat with your driver? It could be in one of these recordings somewhere. If a camera is rolling when a delivery person reaches your home, you could end up in the video footage or even just via the recorded audio should it exist. Why does this matter? Well, filmed footage takes in a lot more than a static, split-second shot of your doorstep. On the other hand, there’s a good chance nobody cares, those parcel delivered links tend to be temporary, and you’re not posing and waving alongside your delivery. ![]() On the one hand, they’re attached to a URL online somewhere and they sometimes have your house number in shot. You may have wondered about the privacy issues related to these photographs. If you’re lucky, your pyjamas are safely out of shot. You may or may not be present when these images are taken, but you’ll often see them on the web-based “parcel delivered” status page. When you receive a delivery nowadays, it’s not unusual for drivers to take a photo at the doorstep. ![]() There are other privacy issues to consider too. In practice the drivers aren’t too keen and insist that the companies using this tech can trust them without having a camera in their face all day long. ![]() In theory where drivers are concerned it could flag a lack of seat belt, or running red lights. AI-enabled equipment which keeps an eye on the drivers’ speed, location, and other activities is part of the growing trend of workplace surveillance. Footage from technology used to monitor Amazon delivery drivers is leaking onto the internet. ![]() Around that time, Mojica reconnected with Voeller and decided to leave his job at Starbreeze Studios to join the project. By 2017, Voeller had decided to leave the industry to pursue an idea for a retro first-person shooter (that would become Prodeus). ![]() Development ĭevelopers Mike Voeller and Jason Mojica met while working together at Raven Software on Singularity. The only goal is to destroy Prodeus and anything that gets in the way. The player assumes control of a corrupted agent of Prodeus, the mysterious creator of the player and the game world. The game also has the option to dynamically convert enemy and item models to sprites, further simulating a retro experience. Though the game may be played entirely with modern visuals, the game allows the player to apply shaders that give the game a pixelated look, simulating resolutions down to 360p or even 216p. Prodeus employs a modern game engine to extend the experience of classic shooters with visuals such as dynamic lighting and particle effects, interactive levels, a gore system, and a dynamic soundtrack. To help the player find their way, and to aid in discovering secrets, the game features an automap similar in function to those featured in games such as Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, and Metroid Prime. The player must explore complex levels, sometimes searching out keys to progress, while engaging enemies in fast-paced combat using a variety of weapons. The developers describe Prodeus as "the first-person shooter of old, re-imagined using modern rendering techniques." The gameplay resembles that of classic 1990s first-person shooters such as Doom and Quake. ![]() The full game was released on macOS, Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in September 2022. An early access version was released on November 9, 2020. The game was crowdfunded by a successful Kickstarter campaign in April 2019. Prodeus is an indie first-person shooter video game developed by Bounding Box Software and published by Humble Games. ![]() My fiancée and I enjoyed ourselves tremendously. All of the staff members went above and beyond, and were all exceedingly friendly. I think it has great promise, and is doing as much as it possible can given its size limitations. I think the rooms are far above average for downtown, though the limited dining selection, limited table game hours (and offerings), and short hike to other properties are negatives. Overall, I would stay there again, especially for a similar price. I neglected to sign up for their player’s card. There is also a very small Leroy’s franchise and a very small Keno area. According to the Wizard’s Blackjack Survey, the rules come in at a pretty dismal 0.64% house edge (6 decks, DAS, H17, no surrender, no RSA). Only 2 of the 3 blackjack tables were open while I was there, one at $3 and one at $5. They are going for the party-pit motif, and all dealers I saw were pretty buxom blondes (don’t tell my fiancée). They are only open limited hours (supposedly they open at 4:00 p.m.), though I saw them open around noon. The casino has 4 gaming tables: 3 blackjack and 1 roulette, compared to MGM’s 178. They have 198 slots, compared with MGM Grand’s 2,470. As a litmus test, I checked a few video poker machines, and could not find anything over 8/5 JoB at any level. It stacks in at a whopping 5,820 square feet, as compared with the MGM Grand, which is more than 25 times as large. The casino, as I mentioned earlier was small, but it has nice glass and metal accents. My fiancée reported that her meal, at $6.99, was “okay.” Then again, she ordered a burrito at a casino diner, so that may be the explanation. From what I remember, prices were reasonable, though I was not feeling well so I did not eat my dinner. ![]() The restaurant, the Golden Grill, was small and bright. It does appear to have been recently remodeled, however. The pool was small and I didn’t go in as it was too cold outside. I did not take pictures, however the room pictures at The Gold Spike web site are accurate.Īpparently, they also own the building next door, and have converted it into “The Oasis at the Gold Spike,” which used to be the Travel Inn. An ipod dock next to the bed was a nice touch, as was the room service menu, whose prices were identical to the restaurant’s dine-in prices, plus a fee. The rooms, which are small, are decorated in a brown/teal motif with new flat screens with full cable mounted on the wall. Unsurprisingly, the room smelled like smoke. Not the hotel's fault, but still unpleasant. ![]() When I turned on the window A/C unit, I was blasted in the face with ash. My fiancee was tired, so she wanted to take the smoking room. As a matter of principal, after paying $7.77 for a room, I was not going to shell out 7 times that for an upgrade. We arrived six hours early for check-in, and the Front Desk explained to us that either we could wait a few hours and get a non-smoking room, take a smoking room immediately, or pay $50.00 to upgrade to a suite immediately. For some reason, they have not taken down the ugly Travel Inn sign outside their "Oasis" wing. The only old vestiges of the old Gold Spike I noticed were the outside of the building (which does have a nice new sign) and the carpets in the room hallways. The restaurant had brand new furnishings and paint, and the rooms were completely redone. The casino itself was airy, had a brand new floor, and looked nicer than many of the properties downtown that have not been renovated as recently. It is clear that the Gold Spike truly considered this a top-down renovation: the “lobby” which was just a small-but-nice desk right off the casino looked new and classy. The Gold Spike does charge a $6.95 a night resort fee, however, the total, which came to just under $18.00 with this resort fee and room tax, was quite to my liking. I had no problem using the coupon on a Sunday night. After speaking with the front desk, it seems that a lot of (but not all) Friday and Saturday nights are blocked off. Please note that the American Casino Guide (the 2010 edition, at least) has a steal of a coupon for the Gold Spike- a $7.77 / a night room special. I am not sure what boutique means, however, the property fits in line with other places I have stayed at that define themselves as such. They proudly consider themselves a “boutique” hotel, and with 162 rooms (according to Wikipedia), it certainly seems to fit in that category. It is owned by the Siegel Group, which also operates the Siegel Slots and Suites. It is located at Las Vegas Boulevard and Ogden, about a 5 minute walk from the California or the El Cortez, or about 3 minutes to the Fremont Street Experience. I recently stayed at the re-opened and refurbished Gold Spike casino in downtown Las Vegas the night of November 14-15, 2010. However, that face needs rethinking because it currently serves a mix of purposes. Although many of the complications aren’t new, it’s worth noting that there is now a large slot complication for ‘today’s date’ and a new Snark complication for the modular face.Īlthough I’ve tested CARROT’s gallery of watch faces and experimented with them on my Watch, I’m sticking with the large complication on the Infograph Modular face, which has been on my default watch face the past year or so. ![]() With such a large collection of configurable complications, there should be a setup here to suit anyone’s needs and preferences. From there, you can modify the face as much as you’d like. Tap on a face you like from CARROT’s iPhone settings and you’re whisked away to the Watch app where a second tap installs the face on your Watch. The gallery is my favorite Watch addition to CARROT because it serves as a fantastic jumping-off point. Just look at these watch faces from the gallery you’ll find in CARROT’s settings. With that limitation gone, and the ability to share watch faces, weather nerds have reason to celebrate. However, users were limited in the number they could use on a single face due to watchOS 6’s limitations. CARROT already offered a big collection of complications. Watch ComplicationsĬARROT Weather takes full advantage of watchOS 7’s ability to display multiple complications from the same app on a watch face and share watch faces. With a Tier 3 subscription, widget data (and Watch complication data) refreshes as often as every 15 minutes. It shouldn’t be shocking to anyone who uses apps that draw on paid data sources like CARROT does, but it’s worth noting that the reason refresh rates are tied to the app’s subscriptions is that frequent refreshes mean more API usage, which costs money. Although I’m happy with my current setup, I’m sure it will change as I try more widgets, invariably changing the layout.Īs has been the case for some time with CARROT’s Watch complications, how often the app’s widget data is refreshed depends on the tier to which you subscribe. Especially with the smaller size widget and CARROT’s terrific flexibility, you can create a set of customized widgets that are easy to flick through as a stack. I’m currently using a small CARROT widget on my first Home screen and the large Forecast and medium Weather Map widget on a dedicated weather page.Īnother approach that I’ve found useful if you don’t want to dedicate an entire screen to weather widgets is to stack multiple CARROT widgets. It’s proven to be a perfect, glanceable way to check the weather. The large Forecast widget gives me all the current and projected information I want plus the ability to quickly check if storms are on their way into the area without having to tap into a separate view. ![]() I’ve tried many of them and have settled on a large Forecast widget and medium Weather Map widget for the time being. There are a lot of possible widget combinations. There are light, dark, and satellite styles, the ability to turn a location marker on or off, and seven different radar layers that can be added to the view. You can pick a zoom level that varies from city to continent level, with county being the default. The final type of widget CARROT offers is Weather Maps in all three sizes. The small Hourly widget is limited to just one data point too. ![]() The small and medium Daily widgets show the same information by default, but the medium version offers two data points, whereas the small version has room for just one. The medium Hourly widget adds the current conditions and a summary section to the hourly-only format of the small version. The Hourly and Daily widgets both come in small and medium varieties with similar layouts. The large Forecast widget is the only large widget I’m using on my iPhone so far. ![]() Good food, music, laughs and endless booze. Is the trail neat or messy?ĭomestic and wild canines lead very different lifestyles. This doesn’t mean you won’t see coyote tracks on a walking trail used by people, but if you see a solitary canine trail with no human sign… it’s much more likely to be a wild animal. Perhaps more importantly… Wild canines never travel with human beings. Are the tracks associated with people?ĭomestic dogs tend to be linked with the presence of human beings. You can often rule animals out or in just by knowing what lives in your general area. What is your location?Īre you in a place that would even have wild canines in this size category?Ĭoyotes and foxes can often live surprisingly close to people, but wolves are much more likely to be found out in remote wilderness areas. With a bit of comparison this is fairly easy to spot. I already mentioned in the video that wild canines will tend to have much sharper nails. Here are some things to watch for: How sharp are the nails? In this case you need to rely on more subtle cues within the tracks. In these cases it’s pretty easy to know that you’re dealing with domestic animal by size alone.īut a lot of dog breeds do actually have a lot of size overlap with wild canines like coyotes, wolves or foxes. Some are very small and others are very large. With a bit of practice it’s also pretty easy to tell the difference between domestic dog tracks and wild canine tracks.ĭogs come in all shapes and sizes. I covered animal gaits with a bit more detail in my online guide to animal tracks so check that out if you’d like to learn more about this technique. Studying animal gaits is a bit more complex than just looking at individual tracks, however when it comes to identifying cat and dog tracks, it is an extremely useful technique. The exception to this rule would be in the case of domestic dogs, as I’ll explain in the section on telling domestic dog tracks from wild canine tracks like foxes, coyotes & wolves. ![]() In general – Canines tend to move in a trotting pattern, while cats almost always move in a walking gait. Okay now onto some more advanced stuff… Telling Cat VS Dog Tracks By Gait PatternsĪnother great way to tell cat vs dog tracks is by the gait pattern.Ī gait pattern means the way an animal actually moves. Notice how the dog track is much more symmetrical than the cat. Just draw an imaginary line down the centre of the track, then compare the right and left sides. Dog family tracks are much more symmetrical than cat family tracks. |
